Bryn Clovis Foundation
During each of the last four years, Chester Community Charter School (CCCS) has received a grant to help fund student tuition to attend the ESF Dream Camp. The Mission of Dream Camp is to transform the lives of low-income, urban youth through innovative programs that nurture the individual, educate the mind and inspire the spirit. The goal of Dream Camp is to develop young leaders and encourage them to embrace challenges, seize opportunities and overcome obstacles, and achieve their dreams.
Dream Camp makes the summer memorable for our children by providing an enthusiastic staff of experienced teachers and college students, a safe / secure recreational facility and enriching programming that focuses on development of the whole child, academically, athletically and emotionally. Dream Camp monitors our children’s success year round and provides a resource for parents and students during the year.
Our Dream Camp children have shown improved academic performance, attendance and behavior. The Camp program improves our students’ performance in math and reading, their critical thinking and decision-making skills, their conflict resolution behaviors, and their leadership potential. They have learned to make better choices, to think about their futures and to develop plans to achieve their goals.
Dream Camp has made a much-needed positive impact on the children who live in the community of Chester.
