Programs

CCCS' Before and After School Child Care provides a structured program where school-aged children can enjoy a variety of activities when classes are not in session. We provide supervised care for children in a safe, secure environment in which they can learn, play, relax and grow as individuals. CCCS staff implements developmental strategies to meet the educational, physical, emotional, social and cultural needs of the school-aged child with professional adult supervision and guidance. Each school year, CCCS asks parents to complete a meal application form, in order to provide students with free or reduced-priced meals. In addition to relieving the costs of school meals for parents and ensuring that each student has adequate food, the applications are also used as a basis for determining our school's eligibility for grants and funding. Such funding is used to support CCCS students and services.  Based on the information submitted, students are determined to be eligible for free, reduced or full-price school meals.  
CCCS has adopted the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s school wellness policy and program.  Base on this policy and program, CCCS’s wellness committee established the following specific guidelines:
The High School Search and Selection process offers CCCS 7th and 8th grade students a one-on-one session to conduct a needs-based, educational analysis, of each individual student, for purposes of high school selection, recruitment and placement.
The Positive Behavior Support Program has been put in place to prevent disruption of the education process. It teaches and encourages pro-social skills and behaviors, uses scientifically based behavior and academic interventions and support, provides rewards and incentives for positive behavior, and offers support for students whose behaviors require more specialized assistance. 
Through its partnership with Cheyney University, Chester Community Charter School offers its fourth-fifth-and sixth-grade students mentoring services and tutorial support through its Call Me Mister Program. 
Penn State University, Pennsylvania Sea Grant   The Watershed and Airshed Education Program is designed to promote a better understanding of the components of each school's local watershed from the Imeadwaters to the ocean. The program also helps to increase understanding of the interaction between watersheds and their airsheds, and emerging issues for the Delaware estuary. 
Knowledge Points Learning Center provides a personal approach to basic skills tutoring, in the subject of reading and vocabulary comprehension, by assisting students in grades 3-8, who are struggling, falling behind or in need of an additional challenge. With proven results and a guarantee of success, students reach their academic goals with ease.  The program consists of a diagnostic skills assessment, 3-1 individualized instruction and an effective motivational system. 
In the 2008-2009 school year, Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), as part of an ongoing effort to provide the highest quality education to its students, introduced and implemented a new Gifted and Talented Enrichment Education Program for students in the second through eighth grades. 
For the fourth consecutive summer, forty-four students from CCCS attended the ESF Dream Camp for five weeks.  Camp activities are conducted from 8:00AM to 4:00PM each day on the site of Girard College in Philadelphia.  CCCS students take part in a variety of activities each day.  These activities include the following:
