Lisa Bellamy - Principal, Aston 6th Grade
Lisa Bellamy is the 6th Grade Principal at CCCS’s Aston Campus. Ms. Bellamy has considerable experience as an educator and charter school leader. She previously served as a school CEO, a principal, an assistant principal, an instructional math coach, and a classroom teacher. Ms. Bellamy earned her Doctorate of Education and her Master of Science in Education at Gwynedd University. She also earned a Master of Science in Education from Kutztown University. Ms. Bellamy is a certified principal and also holds certifications in elementary and early elementary education.
Gregory Love - Assistant Principal, Aston 6th Grade
Gregory Love, BAM MS Ed., is pleased to serve you as your Assistant Principal for the 6th grade House of Leadership. This is his seventh year working for Chester Community Charter School, first year as Assistant Principal and has dedicated over fifteen years within the educational sector. Mr. Love has served in various roles while here at CCCS including: STEAM (Math, Science, and Music) teacher, Retention Committeeman, and After-Care Site Coordinator. He has also served as an Instructional Coach for the Social Studies, Physical Education, Technology, Music, and Art Departments. Last year, he served as the K- 8th grade Social Studies Coordinator for all four CCCS campuses. Additionally, Gregory has had extensive leadership and teaching roles at other academic institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, where he co-developed the curricula for his class, and served as a Faculty Instructor.
Gregory received his Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Minor in Political Science from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He also has a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania with a Principals Certification. He is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Education program, with a Superintendent Certification from Gwynedd Mercy, where he plans to graduate this year. Mr. Love has numerous awards and recognitions including being featured in “JET” magazine, with other Morehouse scholars along with media titan Oprah Winfrey, and receiving City Proclamation’s from both the honorable Michael A. Nutter; former Mayor of Philadelphia, PA, and the honorable Dana L. Redd; former Mayor of Camden, NJ. Gregory prides himself on serving others, including the scholars here at Chester Community Charter School, and the community at large. His biggest achievement; however, is being a father to his son, Gabriel, whom he loves dearly.
Phil Meitner - Principal, Aston 7th Grade
Phil Meitner is proud to be serving you as your Principal for the 7th grade House of Integrity. This is his seventh year working for Chester Community Charter School, first year as the Principal and his 20th year in the field of education. Mr. Meitner has worked for several educational organizations including the Philadelphia School District and the Community Service Foundation/Buxmont Academy. He has served in various roles in education -- as a Classroom Teacher, Lead/Mentor Teacher, Assistant Principal, Day Treatment Counselor, Facilitator of Restorative Circles, and Director of Summer Camps.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Social Studies 7-12 from Kutztown University in 1996. Mr. Meitner then returned to school at Temple University in 2008 to get his Master of Science in Educational Administration K-12. He is certified in Social Studies Education 7-12 for the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware and has his Administrative Certification K-12 for Pennsylvania.
Kathleen Bruce - Assistant Principal, Aston 7th Grade
Mrs. Kathleen Bruce currently serves in the position of 7th-grade assistant principal at Aston II. During her twenty-eighth-year career in education, she has taught a variety of subjects at the elementary and middle/high school level including English, Social Studies, Pre-Algebra, and French. She has served in the position of teacher, mentor, instructional coach, and principal. Mrs. Bruce began teaching at CCCS four years ago as the sixth-grade ELA enrichment teacher in East D, Kindness Hall. Mrs. Bruce is certified in Elementary education K-6, English 7-12, French K-12, and Pennsylvania K-12 Principal certification. She is currently near the completion of her doctoral studies at Immaculata University.
Donyatta Tinson-Smith - Principal, Aston 8th Grade
Donyatta Tinson-Smith was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended the Philadelphia High School for Girls then she received a full academic scholarship to Morgan State University. While growing up and attending Freedom Theatre she became extremely intrigued by the work of Jawanza Kunjufu. As a result, her major at Morgan was Psychology and her goals were to, “change the state of urban education,” and to, “help create educational environments for African-American males to thrive.” While at Morgan she held several leadership positions such as Senior Class President and the President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. After graduating from Morgan, she received the Future Faculty Fellowship from Temple University to pursue her Doctorate in School Psychology.
While studying at Temple, Donyatta was asked to volunteer at World Communication Charter School to help enroll students. That day of volunteering led to 7 years of employment. During those 7 years Donyatta served as a Mathematics Teacher, Testing Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist.
Caryn Jackson - Building Director, Aston
My name is Caryn Penczer Jackson. I have been with Chester Community Charter School for 20 years. I have my Masters in Elementary Education from West Chester University and my Principal Certification from Neumann University. During my time here at CCCS I have been a teacher, a grade level supervisor, a vice-principal, a principal and a building director. I have been the building director in Aston for the past 4 years. On a personal note, I have two amazing children, a very supportive husband, three cats and the best dog ever!! Outside of work I enjoy hiking, kayaking, skiing, boating, and spending time with family and friends. As I always say....
