Chester Community Charter School, the staff, my students, and their families, have been such an important part of my life for the last 16.5 years. My name is Lauren Tumolo and I am the East D Kindness Hall Director. I came to CCCS as a second-grade teacher in 2006 and transitioned to the director role in 2008. While I love being responsible for the events of the entire building, you will often catch me back in the classroom working with and interacting with our awesome kiddos. They are so very special, fun, and eager to learn!
I always wanted to be a teacher. I used to sit my dolls down in front of the chalkboard at home and show them how to write the letters of the alphabet and solve addition problems. My dream of becoming a teacher came true when I got my first official teaching job in 2003. I was a Catholic school teacher at a school in Oxford, PA. While I was working there and also going to Neumann College to complete my Master's degree, my college professor walked up to me and said, "Murphy (that was my maiden name), you need to get a job at the Chester Community Charter School." Well, I took his advice, and here I am almost 17 years later. I love coming to my job every day and truly appreciate all of the people that I have met here at CCCS over the years.
