CCCS Happenings Chester Community Care Center & Food Pantry Grand Opening
Chester Community Charter School is excited to announce the grand opening of the Chester Community Care Center & Food Pantry, which is now located in the space previously known as East B. In recent weeks, we've implemented numerous improvements and have been incredibly grateful for the generous donations from our local community that have helped us launch this initiative.
The Chester Community Care Center & Food Pantry will serve as a safe haven for our families experiencing homelessness or displacement, providing them with a range of essentials for both children and adults. The Care Center allows us to connect with this population in a meaningful way, reinforcing that Chester Community Charter School (CCCS) is more than an educational institution—it is a bridge to resources and support. Through the Care Center and Food Pantry, families can access food, including canned goods and non-perishable items, clothing for all ages, hygiene essentials, and more. Additionally, the Care Center provides services like address updates, transportation assistance, and connections to housing support. Our efforts are strengthened by partnerships with organizations such as ShopRite of Eddystone, SEPTA, Chester Eastside Ministries, Cradles to Crayons, and others who have generously supported our mission to serve this community.
As a department of one, Janesca Martin, CCCS Homeless and Foster Care Liaison says she is fully dedicated to the work at the Care Center.
“As I work toward a Doctorate in Prevention Science, this mission remains close to my heart. I am passionate about supporting homeless and displaced families in Chester and I’m grateful to be in a position where I can connect as many families as possible with essential resources, supplies, and clothing each month. Every opportunity to share resources and uplift our community is deeply fulfilling.”
CCCS is excited to keep supporting our students, their families, and the local community. The Chester Community Care Center & Food Pantry will be opening soon, just in time for the holiday season, but please note that visits will be by appointment only. Families can reach out to Ms. Janesca Martin for more information and assistance.
