Meet the Safe Corridors Team!
To make sure all of our students are safe during arrival and dismissal times, we introduced the Safe Corridors program to our Aston Campus earlier this month. It’s been a great success so far!
Safe Corridors advocates join with the CCCS middle school team to support them during student drop-off and pick-up times, keeping a steady flow of traffic and acting as crossing guards in busier areas. Advocates also watch for suspicious activity and are trained to report it and take action, if needed.
Safe Corridors also assists faculty and staff with maintaining order in school hallways, keeping students secure and protected.
“The Safe Corridors program protects children during busy times of the day, when they are arriving and departing from school,” said Jonathan King, founder and CEO of Safe Corridors. “We’re grateful to be operating at CCCS as we aim to make everyone feel safe in an environment that is so crucial for our youth. We want to interact and communicate with these kids, and show them that we care.”
“We are happy to implement the Safe Corridors program on our Aston Campus,” said Dr. David E. Clark, Jr, CEO of Chester Community Charter School. “We take our students’ security very seriously, and we are always looking for ways to make school safer for them.”
Safe Corridors was established in 2012 and incorporated in 2020 as a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Their mission is to foster safe communities by bridging resources for current residents and ex-offenders that will help them elevate socially and economically. The organization has developed several programs to support the emotional growth and positive relationships among former offenders and members targeted in their community.
We’re happy to be partnering with Safe Corridors for the safety and well-being of our children!
