For 25 years parent and community involvement has been the cornerstone of Chester Community Charter School. This collaboration has been instrumental in creating a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and socially. Our commitment to supporting our families and providing them with the resources they need to be engaged in their children's education has been a key focus. This emphasis on family-school-community partnerships has contributed to the school's enduring legacy, as seen in the long-standing relationships between staff and families.Over the past 22 years, Chantay Swigget has become a familiar face at CCCS after initially discovering the school while running errands. Intrigued by the ad she saw, Chantay decided to visit the Upland campus to see if it would be the right fit for her daughter. Meeting with Principal Medley during the tour, Chantay immediately felt a sense of comfort and belonging. Trusting someone with your children can be a difficult decision. However, Chantay found solace in the welcoming environment. “CCCS just felt right. I felt comfortable. I felt at home”, she recalls. Enrolling all 5 of her children at the school over the years, Chantay has truly become a part of the CCCS family.

Most recently, she completed registering her youngest child to join the Head Start Program, continuing the tradition of excellence at CCCS for her family.

The enrollment process can seem overwhelming to folks, but veteran Enrollment Director, Sharona Brown works diligently to support our families every step of the way. “Guiding students’ educational journeys in my community brings purpose and fulfillment, I have the privilege of connecting families with educational opportunities that can transform lives. As the Director of Enrollment, I bridge the gap between aspiration and reality, ensuring every student finds their place in our school community. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about creating pathways to success, fostering a sense of belonging, and empowering the next generation”, Brown explained. CCCS is a true community success story that has transformed the lives of thousands of students and their families. The established success of CCCS is deeply rooted in a commitment to family and community involvement. Through the testimonial of Chantay Swigget and the dedicated efforts of Enrollment Director, Sharona Brown and her team, it's clear that CCCS has fostered a supportive and welcoming environment for all. This legacy of care, support, and empowerment continues to shape the lives of students and families, highlighting the profound impact of strong family-school-community partnerships.
